Units:2
Although this course was only available on Friday, it was very helpful. I got to work with Japanese majors and the Spanish majors. I did many group discussions where I got to listen to the perspectives and opinions of the Spanish majors. This class helped me thoroughly define different types of linguistics which helped me have a deeper understanding of language itself and how to use language and how it affects society. Different professors taught this course. Spanish professors and Japanese professors and Professor Gus, who was in charge of the technology portion of the class, all had chances in teaching lessons. I honestly had fun in the class while Professor Gus taught because he helped the class explore things that I had no idea existed. I learned how to make surveys and figured out how to make my own site on Weebly. Weebly is the main part of the class. It's basically my major portfolio online and I learned ways to make the site pretty and I was told what kind of information must be included. I was a bit nervous in the beginning for my technology skills is quite poor but this class has definitely boosted my confidence and computer knowledge. Other than the technology portion and group discussions, I was able to give advice to Spanish and Japanese students who did not study abroad yet. It was my responsibility to help the students become prepared as possible. Therefore, I answered any questions given to me about anything such as housing, classes, campus life, and financial needs. WLC 300 contained so many lessons so each class was always different which is nice compared to other courses where you do the same thing every week.
